F.A.Q.

The Canadian Selah Music Awards (CSMA) celebrate and recognize outstanding achievements in the Canadian and International Christian music industry. The awards honor artists, producers, songwriters, and other professionals who contribute to the growth and impact of Christian music in Canada and around the world.

Nominations for the CSMA can be submitted by Canadian and International Christian artists, and music industry professionals. Each year, the CSMA will announce specific nomination guidelines and eligibility criteria.

Nominations are typically submitted through the official CSMA website. Nominees may be required to provide supporting documentation such as songs, albums, or other relevant material that demonstrate their qualifications in specific award categories.

The CSMA includes two main group of categories:

  • General Categories (For Canadian and International artists and music industry professionals).
  • Canadian Categories (Only for Canadian citizens, Permanent Residents of Canada).
  • Additional categories may vary year by year.

The CSMA judges consist of a panel of experienced music industry professionals, including artists, producers, songwriters, and others with significant expertise in Christian music

The CSMA ceremony is usually held annually, and the location may vary each year. The event is often held in a major Canadian city, with live performances, red carpet events, and an award presentation.

The Canadian categories are exclusively for Canadian Artists, but international as well as Canadians are eligible for the General Categories.

Tickets for the CSMA ceremony can typically be purchased through the official website, where attendees can register for the event, purchase tickets, and learn about any other details such as accommodation options.

The CSMA offers various sponsorship opportunities. Companies and organizations interested in partnering with the awards can contact the CSMA team via their website to discuss available sponsorship packages.

To be eligible for the CSMA, the artist or work must meet specific criteria and having released music in the relevant year. Further guidelines will be provided during each year’s nomination process.

Winning an award at the CSMA can provide significant recognition, media exposure, and increased opportunities for performances, collaborations, and growth within the Christian music community.

The CSMA may allow multiple submissions per category from the same artist or group, but each submission must meet the eligibility criteria. Review the official submission guidelines for more details.
